What is LDAP?
Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) is a directory services protocol which is designed to be an industry standard, providing an application protocol for managing distributed directory information services. It is cross-platform, vendor neutral and aims at improving network performance by standardising access to directory servers.
LDAP operates on top of the TCP/IP protocol and handles a range of requests from clients to do with directoy server operations, including authentication, data access and searching for specific data. Depending on how it's set up, an LDAP server can provide a different range of operations and controls.
Extract Data From LDAP
